Anna Szurpit, born in 1984 in Poznań, graduated from the Piotr Potworowski Secondary School of Fine Arts and from Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at Adam Mickiewicz University.In her work, she explores human nature — what shapes our perception, emotions, identity, and spiritual awareness. Her painting grows from reflection on psychoanalytic theory, philosophy, and the study of consciousness. It represents an attempt to understand the inner landscape of the human being, where psyche and spirit meet.The series “E Pluribus Unum” marks the culmination of this exploration. It is a cycle devoted to the broad nature of humanity – our identity, inner rhythms, and connection with the living Earth. In these works, Szurpit pays tribute to femininity, lineage, and fertility, as well as to the invisible bonds that unite all forms of existence. She believes that we are all interconnected vessels, part of one vast organism pulsing with the same rhythm – the rhythm of Mother Earth.

The concept of the Source lies at the heart of her artistic and spiritual practice. It represents both the origin of life and the space of inner remembrance — where individuality merges with the universal, and where identity is rediscovered through presence.For Szurpit, spirituality is not an external system, but an inner movement toward unity, an awareness of the sacred flow connecting all beings.Inspired by Sigmund Freud, she examines the formation of the Ego – from the child’s primal wholeness and narcissism, through separation, to the longing for reintegration. The writings of Carl Gustav Jung open for her a symbolic dimension — a language of archetypes through which the unconscious can speak.In her painting Taming the Ego, the Ego appears as a dog – a loyal companion, symbol of instinct, trust, and the need for inner guidance. The children’s faces in her works, often surreal and unsettling, become mirrors of hidden consciousness – echoes of the path back to the Source, where true identity and peace are born.

Anna Szurpit, urodzona w 1984 roku w Poznaniu, jest absolwentką Państwowego Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych im. Piotra Potworowskiego oraz Etnologii i Antropologii Kulturowej na Uniwersytecie im. Adama Mickiewicza.W swojej twórczości bada naturę ludzką — to, co kształtuje nasze postrzeganie, emocje, tożsamość i duchową świadomość. Jej malarstwo wyrasta z refleksji nad psychoanalizą, filozofią i fenomenem świadomości. To próba zrozumienia wewnętrznego pejzażu człowieka, w którym spotykają się psychika i duch. Seria „E Pluribus Unum” stanowi kulminację tych poszukiwań. To cykl poświęcony naturze człowieka, jego tożsamości, wewnętrznym rytmom i więzi z żywą Ziemią. W tych pracach artystka oddaje hołd kobiecości, rodowości i płodności, a także połączeniom, które przenikają cały świat natury. Wierzy, że wszyscy jesteśmy naczyniami połączonymi, częścią jednego, żywego organizmu pulsującego wspólnym rytmem — rytmem Matki Ziemi.

Pojęcie Źródła zajmuje w jej twórczości centralne miejsce. To zarówno metafora początku życia, jak i przestrzeń wewnętrznej pamięci, w której indywidualne stapia się z uniwersalnym, a tożsamość zostaje ponownie odnaleziona poprzez obecność. Dla Szurpit duchowość nie jest systemem wierzeń, lecz ruchem ku jedności — świadomością świętego przepływu, który łączy wszystkie istoty.Inspirując się Zygmuntem Freudem, twórczyni analizuje proces kształtowania się Ego – od pierwotnej dziecięcej pełni i narcyzmu, przez rozdarcie, aż po potrzebę scalania. Myśl Carla Gustava Junga otwiera dla niej przestrzeń symbolu i archetypu – języka, w którym nieświadomość może przemawiać obrazem. W pracy Oswajanie Ego Ego przybiera postać psa – wiernego towarzysza człowieka, symbolu instynktu, lojalności i wewnętrznego prowadzenia. Dziecięce twarze w jej obrazach, często surrealne i niepokojące, są zwierciadłami ukrytych warstw świadomości – echem drogi ku Źródłu, w którym rodzi się prawdziwa tożsamość i wewnętrzny spokój.
